What We Do

CMCA’s mission is to transform young people into concerned, thoughtful, and active citizens. Our schools’ heads and teachers will be pleased to see that CMCA has designed programs that are relevant and equip our students with critical knowledge, skills, and values, fostering empathy for ourselves, our families, and our community.

Classroom pedagogy emphasizes 21st-century learning skills such as teamwork, communication, planning, technology, life skills, and critical thinking for students.

The programs also include collective action opportunities such as awareness campaigns, household surveys, school and community audits, assessments, interviews, and interactions.

A resource bank is provided, which includes energizers, calming activities, stories, video links, and thematic discussions for facilitators and educators to extend and tailor each session to suit allocated time.

Experiential learning is a key component, allowing students to “learn by doing” and reflect on their experiences within groups. Concepts such as experiential learning and collective action deepen the learning process and enhance 21st-century skills and citizenship education among students.

Collective Action

Together for Change projects, CMCA’s vision emphasizes collective action, recognizing that transformational changes stem from the power of collective action. At CMCA, collective action components create safe, structured, and inclusive spaces for children to explore their interests and actively engage with peers in addressing community challenges. Students will immerse themselves in the exploration process at their own pace and initiative, fully involved in their groups, and leveraging limited resources to achieve visible change.

CMCA Workshops

Further, CMCA programs run from Grade 6 to Grade 10, aiming to achieve far-reaching and enduring change and outcomes. These extended programs consist of CMCA workshops dovetailed with experiential learning, tailored for (Grade 6 & 7), and (Grade 9 & 10).
